The atmosphere was vivacious with lots of smiles, excitement and friendly people who had all come together to celebrate excellence in the care sector.

The Essex Care Sector Awards: The Prospers are a celebration of innovative practice and outstanding achievement across the care sector.  There were 185 nominations from over 70 different organisations for the 14 award categories with almost 200 people attending the very glamorous ceremony.

The Outstanding Leadership category recognises an individual who has provided great leadership and support, is able to communicate well, acknowledges and encourages staff to make a positive contribution to the service and has had a positive impact on the recruitment and retention of staff and is an inspiration to the staff team.

The Essex Care Sector Awards highlighted in their programme accompanying the ceremony that Becky had improved Foxburrow Grange’s CQC rating in the first 12 months as manager.  They also commented:

‘New to the home Becky has built relationships with key people, listening to them and is approachable. Becky has created a culture of excellence, empowering her staff to be part of a vibrant and informed team. She is respected by her staff and has a person centred ethos involving residents and relatives in the running of the home, creating good connections with the local community including children from the local nursery and becoming part of the Wish Come True scheme. Becky also supports other home managers in Essex via My Home Life Essex, sharing her experiences.’
